Iceland Fossil-fuel Dashboard

The Iceland Fossil Fuel Dashboard makes it possible to gain insights into the sales and consumption of fossil fuel in Iceland in the years 2010-2020. It allows the user to drill down into the sales by region or municipality, type of fuel, and quantity, both in totals and per capita. It enables the user to save the graphs generated by the dashboard.

This data is no longer collected by the Icelandic authorities and Eimur would like to use this opportunity to implore the Icelandic Ministry of Environment, energy and climate as well as the Icelandic Environmental and Energy Agency to continue the collection and publication of detailed fossil fuel sales data for Iceland, as it is Eimur’s opinion that this is the absolute best indicator on the progress of energy transition and the target of fossil free Iceland by 2050.

The Icelandic Fossil Fuel Dashboard was developed by Eimur and Efla Engineering. Programming was done by Inbal Armony as a part of a final project for the SIT Study Abroad: Climate Change and the Arctic program. Eimur would like to thank Efla Engineering and Inbal for a fantastic collaboration.
