AT LAST

LOCAL GoGREEN strengthens the capacity of local authorities to design, implement, and monitor ambitious short‑ and medium‑term strategies that accelerate the Clean Energy Transition and support the 2030 targets.

The project builds a transnational knowledge‑sharing ecosystem that promotes sustainable energy communities through capacity building, participatory decision‑making, and collaborative initiatives for developing and delivering integrated climate and energy plans.

ICONIC

The project supports six EU Member States (Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, Portugal, and Romania) in establishing Climate and Energy Dialogue (CED) platforms under Article 11 of the EU Governance Regulation.

These platforms ensure that national energy and climate policies (NECPs) are developed, updated, and implemented with meaningful involvement from local and regional authorities, as well as a broad range of stakeholders.

IN - PLAN

RENOVERTY supports energy‑efficient building renovations for energy‑poor households in rural districts across Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe.

The project develops practical and financially viable renovation roadmaps, provides tools for local and regional actors, and creates a scalable EU‑wide model that also addresses social needs such as safety, comfort, and accessibility.

Seven pilot sites in Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Portugal, and Spain will test and refine the approach over three years.

ENTRACK PROJECT

NTRACK is a Horizon Europe project that strengthens the ability of local and regional authorities to plan, finance, and implement their clean energy transition.

The project develops practical tools, training programmes, and governance models that help municipalities coordinate climate and energy actions, improve data‑driven decision‑making, and mobilise investment for long‑term transition pathways.

By working with pilot regions across Europe, ENTRACK tests and refines approaches that support more coherent planning, stronger stakeholder engagement, and faster progress toward climate neutrality.

LOCAL GoGREEN

AT LAST is an EU‑funded initiative designed to support European cities in advancing their climate objectives. The project works with smaller municipalities across Europe to turn their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAP) into concrete action.

By strengthening cross‑sector cooperation and providing guidance on planning, financing, and implementation, AT LAST helps local authorities move toward climate‑neutral and resilient urban futures.

NECPlatform

ICONIC is an EU‑funded project that strengthens energy independence, climate neutrality, and sustainable development in rural and island regions.

The project combines technological solutions—such as renewable energy systems, smart water management, autonomous biogas production, and sustainable mobility—with social innovation tools that support local decision‑making and community engagement.

These approaches are being tested in Inis Mór (Ireland), La Graciosa (Spain), and Berchidda (Italy) in close collaboration with local authorities and community stakeholders.

OWN YOUR SECAP

IN‑PLAN is an EU‑LIFE project that supports local and regional authorities in integrating energy, climate, and spatial planning.

Through a train‑the‑trainers approach and work with pilot regions, the project develops practical methods and guidelines that help municipalities align budgets, land use, and infrastructure planning with long‑term climate and energy goals.

PLAN4CET supports European regions and cities in designing, developing, and implementing Clean Energy Transition (CET) plans that are tailored to their specific needs and capacities.

The project strengthens local and regional capabilities by providing practical tools, guidance, and collaborative processes that help authorities plan long‑term, coordinate across sectors, and accelerate their transition toward a sustainable and climate‑neutral future.

RURALITIES

RURALITIES is a Horizon Europe project that empowers rural communities to tackle climate and development challenges through innovation and learning.

The project establishes training hubs and living labs in six pilot regions, combining citizen science, digital tools, and participatory methods to share knowledge and build local expertise.

By fostering collaboration and practical skills, RURALITIES supports rural stakeholders in adopting climate‑smart solutions, strengthening ecosystems, and driving sustainable growth.

PROSPECT CUBE aims to strengthen the capacity of local and regional authorities through a tested peer‑to‑peer capacity‑building programme.

The project equips them with the skills needed to implement sustainable energy actions by moving beyond reliance on public funding and instead leveraging private capital.

It promotes the use of innovative financing schemes and supportive structures such as one‑stop shops, energy agencies, and energy communities, enabling authorities to scale up their climate and energy initiatives more effectively.

STEP - WISE

Step‑WISE supports municipalities in planning their clean energy transition by combining digital modelling, simulation tools, and expert‑led training.

The project offers a data‑driven decision‑making toolkit and has already published a white paper, launched five regional use cases across Southern and Mediterranean Europe, and engaged more than 40 organisations through multilingual workshops and training sessions.

In the next phase, additional municipalities can join as adopters, receiving a six‑month licence to the toolkit (SketchUp PRO required) and participating in expert‑led online workshops scheduled for October 2025.

Own Your SECAP supports 11 small and medium‑sized municipalities across Europe in developing their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs).

Through capacity‑building, peer‑to‑peer exchange, and the adoption of energy management (ISO 50001) and climate adaptation standards (ISO 14092), the project empowers local authorities to set ambitious climate‑neutrality targets for 2050, implement mitigation, adaptation, and energy‑poverty measures, and integrate climate priorities into municipal budgeting.
