Postojna Prepares for a High-Impact Summer Advancing RECET Outcomes

The Municipality of Postojna is preparing for an intensive and strategically important summer as it continues to consolidate the achievements made during the RECET project.

Following the successful establishment of the Postojna Energy Community in December 2025, the initiative has received strong support from local residents and significant interest from stakeholders across the wider region. With this momentum, Postojna is now completing the final administrative steps required before the Energy Community begins delivering tangible benefits to its participants.

To strengthen local capacity for developing and implementing renewable energy (RES) and energy efficiency (EE) projects, Postojna will host two online capacity‑building seminars during the summer months. These sessions are designed for both public and private stakeholders, equipping them with practical knowledge that can be directly applied in their daily professional work. By improving skills and understanding of RES and EE project development, the municipality aims to support more effective local planning and accelerate sustainable development.

In addition to the seminars, a study visit to Zasavje will be organised, including a visit to the Center for Just Transition. The purpose of this visit is to establish new functional partnerships that can support the advancement of RES and EE initiatives. Particular emphasis will be placed on identifying approaches that generate meaningful impacts not only in the energy sector but also in broader socio‑economic development. Strengthening cooperation with regions experienced in just transition processes will help Postojna build a more resilient and forward‑looking local development strategy.

These activities are especially valuable for smaller urban‑rural communities that often lack the capacity to design and implement complex projects. Through regional networking, knowledge exchange and targeted capacity building, Postojna aims to ensure that such communities can fully benefit from RECET outcomes and continue building sustainable, inclusive futures.
