Introducing RECET at the Nordic-Baltic Energy Conference

Skúli Gunnar Árnason from Eimur presented the RECET project at the conference

In December 2023, Eimur participated in the Nordic-Baltic Energy Conference 2023 in Tallinn, representing Iceland’s Ministry of Environment, Energy, and Climate. The conference took place on 11–12 December and brought together policymakers, energy experts, and practitioners from across the Nordic and Baltic regions to exchange perspectives on energy policy, regional cooperation, and the transition to sustainable energy systems.

As part of the programme, Skúli Gunnar Árnason, RECET project manager, delivered a presentation titled Energy Policy on the Local Level: Planning and Implementing Energy Actions with Local Authorities. His talk highlighted the critical role of municipalities in driving the energy transition and emphasized the importance of structured energy planning, close collaboration with local authorities, and the implementation of concrete actions at the local level.

Eimur’s participation in the conference provided a valuable opportunity to share Icelandic experiences and best practices, while also learning from ongoing initiatives and policy approaches across the Nordic-Baltic region. The event strengthened cross-border dialogue and reinforced the importance of local and regional cooperation in achieving national and European energy and climate goals.
