In just a few years, Blekinge’s five municipalities have

made significant progress in local energy planning.

When the work began in autumn 2023, none had an

up-to-date, politically adopted energy plan.

Today, all five are actively working with energy planning,

supported by Energy Agency Southern Sweden

through the RECET project.

The support has focused on building knowledge,

developing effective working methods and strengthening collaboration. Sölvesborg and Karlshamn

have already adopted their energy plans and moved into implementation, while Olofström, Ronneby and Karlskrona are progressing towards political adoption.

A key part of the RECET approach has been bringing municipalities together through workshops and peer learning, enabling them to share experiences while adapting their plans to local needs. The process has also strengthened long-term cooperation between municipalities and regional partners.

The next step is to ensure that energy plans become part of everyday municipal decision-making, including spatial planning, climate action, business development and preparedness.
