Over the past three years, the RECET project has worked alongside municipalities and regional stakeholders across Europe to support the clean energy transition in rural areas. While every region started from a different position, they all shared the same ambition: to turn climate goals into practical actions that create lasting benefits for local communities.
This edition of the RECET Newsletter focuses on implementation. Across the project, partners are now moving beyond planning and into action by developing practical tools, strengthening local capacity, building energy communities, and sharing experiences that can inspire others.
In this issue, we present the RECET Action Bank, a practical resource designed to help municipalities implement climate and energy measures. We also showcase how the project's approaches are being replicated across Iceland, highlight new initiatives that have grown directly from RECET, and share progress from our partners in Sweden, Slovenia, and beyond.
As the project enters its final phase, one message has become clear: successful energy transition is not only about ambitious targets—it is about giving local communities the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to make those ambitions a reality.
